Texts & Messages for PØST LA Kamikaze project showcases three artists and a shared interest in written language and visual texts. From handwritten mail art, to the effaced surface of a newspaper, to the enlarged pages of personal journals printed and painted, these artists explore intersections of public and private, media as communication, and intimacy of viewership.

Digital Collage Video Loop Exhibition

After the Galloping Snail is a 2 channel looping video slide show consisting of over 700 digital collage-drawings, made on a cell phone between 2014 and 2017, first shared via the instagram feed @phoneypntng.

At a gallop, the snail! We scribble while crawling in the wake of God. 
We live more quickly than ourselves, the pen doesn’t follow. To paint the present, which is passing us by, we stop the present.

Sarah Granett (USA), Drawing & Painting.

Sarah Granett studied at Mason Gross School of the Arts in (MFA) and Bard College (BA), the New York Studio School, and CSU Sacramento. She was a resident at Vermont Studio School (2017), Red Gate, Beijing (2010), participated in Bronx AIM program (2011) and received a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Funds grant (2011). During the years of 2007 through 2011 she participated in artist-run exhibition initiatives at Index Art Center (then Red Saw) (Newark, NJ), Gallery Afferro (Newark, NJ), and the Dirty Dirty (Ditmas Park, Brooklyn). From 2011 to 2014 she lived and worked in Istanbul, co-producing the artist-run project NIMBY Lifestyles with Jasmine Justice and Jesse Farber. Starting in 2014 she co-founded the arts magazine Dime and Honey with Carin Rodenborn. She collaborates with composer-musician-artist Roozbeh Nafisi with whom she created , as seen, as said, as sung, as read, as, debuted at the Festival of New American Music (2017). She has also created video animations and short films with artist-composer Steven Dressler.

Granett is currently based in Los Angeles.
